Dr. Yelgar is an optometrist with strong ocular disease experience who loves to serve diverse and vibrant communities like Kent, Washington.

Born in India and raised in California, he spent his formative years on the west coast. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis for neurobiology he moved to New York City to attend optometry school at the SUNY College of Optometry and earned his Doctorate of Optometry with BSK honors in 2018.

A humanitarian at heart, following graduation, Dr. Yelgar spent three months volunteering at Aravind Eye Hospital in Pondicherry, India and was able to take away important lessons in advanced disease management. Since then, he has sharpened his clinical skills across the five boroughs of New York City.

Outside of work, Dr. Yelgar loves to cook, travel, read, and spend time in the great outdoors with his wife and (spoiled) dog.

According to Dr. Yelgar, one of the great joys of being an optometrist is the extent of the human spectrum he has been able to care for. With past experiences ranging from boutique eye care in Manhattan to the underserved region of East Harlem, Dr. Yelgar knows that every person’s eyes and needs are different and looks forward to caring for yours.

Dr. Kurt Hofeldt is an optometrist who has been providing quality eye care in Kent, Washington since 2011.

After completing his optometry degree at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, he has focused his career on helping patients who suffer from dry eyes and irregular corneas. Through extensive training, he is now considered to be an expert in specialty contact lenses, helping those with keratoconus, astigmatism, presbyopia, dry eyes, and many more corneas or eyes with irregular shapes.  He is here to help with you with your lenses whether is soft or scleral lens design.

In 2008, Dr. Hofeldt had the unique opportunity to travel to Australia and work side-by-side with one of the creators in Orthokeratology; a safe and effective process by which myopia (nearsightedness) can be controlled by a custom-made contact. With increasing computer and phone use, Dr. Hofeldt is seeing a much greater need to control the progression of kids myopia. Ask for Dr. Hofeldt if you are interested in Myopia Control.

In his free time, you can find Dr. Hofeldt outside exploring the Great Pacific Northwest and traveling elsewhere around the world. He loves back country skiing and sailing, but can also be found mountain biking, kayaking, or rock climbing.
